High Angle Rescue Technician

About The Role

The primary function of the High Angle Rescue Technician is to provide confined space and technical rope rescue standby.

Responsibilities

Inspections

  • Inspect, inventory and document High Angle Rescue equipment to ensure all equipment is ready to use
  • Set up and test communications and alarm systems
  • Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes all function tests

Assessment & Planning

  • Assist in assessing ricks, preparing rescue equipment and planning practical and effective solutions towards safe work practices

Education & Certifications

  • NFPA 1006 Technical Rescuer Professional qualification or similar qualifications(IRATA/SPRAT may be considered)
  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid Level C
  • CSTS
  • CSO
  • Confined Space Entry (OSSA)
  • Fall Protection (OSSA/ESC)
  • A valid, unrestricted Driver's Licence (Please note, a valid licence does not include a Learner's Permit or Graduated Licence)
  • A Driver's Abstract indicating an unrestricted licence with no serious traffic safety violations and 4 or less convictions of any type in the last 36 months

Experience

  • 2 years or more epxerience with High Angle & Confined Space Rescue
  • Running breathing apparatus equipment would be considered an asset
  • Industrial Firefighting and/or Paramedical experience would be considered an asset

  • Problem Solver - Hustles to find a solution; willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
  • Communicator - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in many mediums, including the ability to follow directions and provide feedback while remaining pleasant and articulate

Other Details

We are looking for candidates that reside within 1 hour from Lloydminster for this position.

This role does require proof of a successful Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Screen and a standardized 75 lb/36 kg Physical Fitness Test that is arranged and paid for by HSE.
