mPower Workholding Solutions and Hydraulic Shock Absorbers comprises the product development division of Modern Industries, a diversified, multi-division corporation founded in 1946. After experiencingfirst-handfrustration with existing work holding technology, we designed and developed better methods to compress set-up times, expedite fixturing changes and improve throughput, re-thinking the form and function of work holding products that translate into significant, tangible benefits for every HMC or VMC equipment operator.

Moderns hydraulic shocks are precisely engineered to provide longer machine life, to reduce structural fatigue and also to reduce premature failures. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Engineer designs, develops and testsnew hydraulic and pneumatic machine motion control systems and re-design existing systems to satisfy existing customer needs and to expand our proprietary international products line.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain clear understanding of customer specifications, requirements and desires for various motion control products.
  • Design and develop hydraulics shock absorbers, pneumatics and other fluid power technology fornew products,
  • Design and develop modifications to existing products, which meet customer requirements.
  • Oversee testing and final quality control on projects before shipment to customers.
  • Develop bills of materials and material specifications, and interface with purchasing to obtain raw material.
  • Implement manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing specifications, to achieve the quality and quantity required by customers.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 years working in the field of hydraulic design and analysis.
  • Strong computer skills (Windows, MS Office, design platform)
  • Fluid Power (hydraulics, pneumatics,  with machining, assembly, and test 
    • Fluid power assembly, testing and data analysis

Preferred (Highly)

  • Prior industry experience in design and analysis of centrifugal pump main hydraulics
  • Prior industry experience in design and analysis of custom-engineered industrial hydraulic shock absorbers 
 
Work Schedule 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with 1 hour lunch  
Travel Requirements Limited travel to customers may be needed
