Share Email Opening Title Lost Time Adjuster  Description Our TPA office is now accepting applications for a Lost Time Workers’ Compensation Adjuster for a potential client in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. This position involves investigation, negotiation and settlement of Workers' Compensation claims and compliance with the requirements of all Workers' Compensation Statutes in the Commonwealth of Virginia. A minimum of 1-2 years Workers' Compensation adjusting experience is required. Experience handling presumption claims preferred. Duties: Initiate indemnity payments in a timely manner and maintain diary for ongoing payments as required. Make timely and proper completion of State filings of all required forms. Monitor medical treatment in conjunction with Medical Management personnel where appropriate. Promptly approve medical bills for payment. Promptly authorize appropriate medical services. Understand how to utilize a "panel" in Virginia. Coordinate light duty availability with medical providers and employers. Attend client meetings as necessary. Maintain working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Statute and Rules, and their application. Direct defense counsel in handling of litigation claims. With defense input, make timely decisions regarding litigated issues. Evaluate cases for settlement, making appropriate recommendations to clients. Determine subrogation potential, and pursue recovery where applicable.
