SUMMARY OF POSITION

Aid the safe and reliable transportation of students and other school district passengers by ensuring constant compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulation.  Compliance is achieved by observing, monitoring, reviewing, and assisting school bus drivers, aides, and monitors. 

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  1. Meet all general qualifications for employment.
  2. Meet all qualifications for School Bus Driver.
  3. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  4. Good attendance and punctuality record.
  5. Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  6. Proficient in computer use, including Windows, Office, and preferably dispatch/routing software.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  8. Experience working as a member of the team.
  9. Experience with day-to-day functions of a school bus transportation office.
  10. Knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures, traffic laws and school bus regulations.
 
Position Requirements

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Regularly communicate with local district staff.

2.Review, investigate, and address student discipline issues, as needed.

3.Audit bus routes and transportation schedules.

4.Monitor and evaluate bus stops and passenger restraint systems for safety.

5.Respond to and investigate vehicle crashes, including traveling to scene, coordinating resources, and

6.Using computerized routing system, two-way radios and office equipment 

7.Assisting Supervisors in dispatching driving assignments

8.Preparing comprehensive narrative and statistical reports, and maintain related logs

9.Participating in computer training and all other required company sponsored training

10.Other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC ABILITIES

1.Plan and organize the route planning and dispatch services of the operation center.

2.Operate office equipment, company vehicles and communication equipment.

3.Interact positively with co-workers, school administration, students and parents.

4.Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

5.Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

6.Proactively identify and suggest process improvements to avoid or eliminate problems.

7.Meet schedules and time deadlines.

8.Work independently with little direction.

9.Work split shift and overtime as required.
