POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION

The Data Center Quality Systems (DCQS) Manager oversees the development and continuous improvement of the NTT Data Center Operations Program (DCOP) for the Americas region, in collaboration with the NTT Global Data Center Operations team. As a subject matter expert on data center operation programs and quality practices, they take a leadership role in regional implementation of the global DCOP, and in establishing regional adaptations and customizations.

The DCQS Manager leads a team of quality specialists in the development and documentation of the regional DCOP, along with the training and compliance monitoring programs. This team regularly interfaces with the global Operation Team to communicate regional practices and requirements and participates in global data center operation workgroups on program development and operational improvement topics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and coordinate the regional implementation of the global Data Center Operation Program (DCOP).
  • Oversee development and implementation of the regional DC Operations technical training program, including curriculum and level. Coordinate training with Human Resources Director of Corporate Development.
  • Oversee regional compliance to the global DCOP and locally established practices through a system of ongoing quality checks and regional program audits.
  • Coordinate the collection and communication of regional requirements and best practices to the global Operation Function Team.
  • Provide feedback to senior management for the continuous improvement of the DC Quality program.
  • Support Sales and Marketing by maintaining current information on the regional DCOP suitable for inclusion into Sales and Marketing literature, and by assisting with RFP responses about the regional operation program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing multi-facility, standards-based data center operation programs.
  • Ability to analyze processes, create process documentation, write operational procedures and communicate effectively with both senior management and facility operations personnel.
  • Knowledge of quality principles and programs desirable.
  • Working knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems is desirable.
  • Strong English language communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to clearly communicate goals and manage to timely and accurate results.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree desired, or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 -- 7 years of experience working in data centers or other types of mission critical facilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting, standing, and walking with some bending.
  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard, mouse.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Typical data center work environment with varying temperatures and sound levels.
  • Extensive daily usage of a computer or workstation.
  • Some remote work may be permitted.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel to domestic and international data center locations as needed, up to 25%.
  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.
