Job Summary:
- Collaborate with team for health promotion activities and programs, and complete presentations to site staff on health-related topics.
- Educate and counsel patients on their health conditions and utilize evidence-based practice.
- Administer nursing care to ill or injured patients within the workplace.
- Assess and diagnose patients in urgent and non-urgent settings
- Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act in compliance with set Health & Safety standards and regulations
- Assist in the investigation of accidents or incidents when required
- Provide support when meeting with clients, ensure follow-up with field personnel regarding job performance issues
- Maintain open and clear communication between management, dispatch and clinic staff.
- Statistical data generation for weekly, quarterly and annual reports
- Participates in educational development and the development of clinic policy and procedures
- Conduct alcohol and drug testing and respirator fit testing
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members on-site and on-call Medical Director to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and patient records
- Perform competent nursing care within scope of practice identified by CARNA standards.
- Plans and implements health promotion initiatives on-site
- Primary assessment, treatment, follow up and referral for medical care and emergent care associated with occupational and non- occupational injuries and illnesses
Assist to train new hires, coordinate on-the-job mentoring and coaching as needed
Required Qualifications/Education:
- CSO, H2S Alive
- BLS, ACLS, ITLS
- BScN preferred
- Nurse Practitioner in good standing with CARNA
Experience:
- Experience with health promotion program development is an asset
- Experience presenting health information to large groups is an asset
- Understanding of Cority or other electronic charting is an asset
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Strong teamwork skills
- Demonstrative of a desire for continued learning and personal development and growth
- Preference will be given to those who meet the above educational requirements and who possess 5 to 7 years' experience as a medical professional in the oilfield industry or with experience in emergency, acute care, ICU environments
Working Conditions:
- Work schedule 12 hour day shifts; 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off
- Remote oilfield clinic
- May be required to be on-call dependent on the medical situation
