Description

Production Supervisor

1. Summary:
Supervise polyurethane operations to ensure quotas, correct protocols, and quality control standards are met effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Typical Schedule is Monday – Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm. When night shift is necessary, schedule is Monday – Thursday, 5:00pm - 3:30am. Mandatory paid overtime may be required seasonally to meet production demand.

2. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain detailed knowledge of current/future standard operating procedures (SOP's), 5S program and safety procedures, and related follow through
Effectively monitor, train, and motivate employees to consistently meet quotas and quality control standards
Role Model a positive attitude and good work ethic, be available for employees you supervise with behavior and decisions consistent with FeraDyne's policies and procedures
Observe and evaluate performance of employees; counsel, record, and discipline as necessary
Consistently and accurately complete and turn in production logs/daily paperwork to supervisor
Communicate inventory levels for daily production and projected production
Correspond with and maintain professional relations with vendors, suppliers, and other service providers
Efficiently and accurately maintain equipment to ensure proper running is possible - mix head, poly and iso pump filters, oil for the pump seals, etc.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines when handling sharp cutting tools/objects, spray and nail gun, torch, grinder, welder, bandsaw, forklift, and pallet jack
Paint product using template
Ability to work an off-shift (5:00pm-3:30am, with at least a two-week notice from FeraDyne leadership)
Ability to work overtime (40-50 hours per week) during busy production season (Monday – Friday, with 1 week notice from FeraDyne leadership)
Any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by division manager

3. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to supervise and work as part of a team
Mechanically inclined
Basic to intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Reading comprehension and writing skills
Possess good communication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills

4. Physical Demands
Work around paint and fumes
Wear safety glasses for 8+ hours per shift
Sit and/or stand for 8-12 hours while working
Utilize fine and gross motor skills with repetitive movement of arms, wrists, hands and fingers
Lift 25-75 pounds overhead, push and pull objects up to 75 pounds (repetitive at times)
Other strenuous physical activity

5. Equipment Used
Forklift (once certified)
Pallet jack
Spray and nail gun, torch, grinder, welder, and bandsaw
Objects with sharp edges
All necessary PPE (personal protective equipment) as designated by division manager

6. Qualifications
Minimum of two years experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial or related background
Ability to effectively supervise others, problem solve, and lead a production team
Job Fit Assessment and Mechanical Aptitude testing may apply

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Other education desired
