Electrical Engineer - Naval Landing Craft  

Description

The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50+ year history of providing the United States Military with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services is seeking a Mid-Level Planning Yard Landing Craft Utility - Mechanized (LCU/LCM) Electrical Engineer. 

PMS 377 is the Amphibious Warfare Program Office for the US Navy. The office manages the acquisition of Navy amphibious ships and craft including:

  • America class Amphibious Assault Ship (LHA (R))
  • Amphibious Assault Direction System (AADS)
  • Ship to Shore Connector (SSC)
  • Landing Craft Utility (LCU)
  • Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC)

 

The individual is responsible for all Electrical Engineering / C4N (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Navigation) for LCU 1700 LCM and sustainment efforts. Specific duties include:
   

  • Develops change records (BoatAlts) for craft improvements and safety issues. 
  • Provides technical guidance and documentation for craft changes, including installation drawings, Tech Manual (TM) updates, and Allied Technical Pubs (ATPs) . 
  • Provides technical and design support on emergent issues in the Fleet and during all availabilities. 
  • Responds to emergent Fleet Life Cycle support and engineering issues as a result of (Support Equipment) SEIPT meetings for items related to action items/studies. 
  • Serves as the lead technical authority for reviewing/answering Liaison Action Requests (LARs) processed and approved by the Planning Yard and travels for design craft checks when necessary (ACU-1, ACU-2 and NBU-7). 
  • Works/updates the status of work in PMS377’s Integrated Data Environment Service Center (IDESC) . 
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (professional experience of essentially same scope and complexity)  

• Proficiency in speaking and writing in English; able to clearly present LFT&E assessments , analysis and recommendations verbally and in writing.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Must hold an active, current or interim Secret clearance

Must have the ability to travel up to 20% ???????
