About the Role

The role of an Account Manager is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers and develop new business from existing clients. They are expected maintain an extensive field presences and actively seek new sales opportunities with clients in their assigned area.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sales

  • Promote HSE through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices as related to the customers and the public
  • Gather competitive information and other market information regularly while interacting cooperatively with other members of the sales team
  • Identify business opportunities with new customers
  • Answer client queries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and customer stakeholders
  • Work with Corporate Contract Manager to negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits

Reporting and Monitoring

  • Monitor operations in their area to ensure that client needs are being appropriately met and that all corporate policies and procedures are being adhered to
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Prepare reports on account status
  • Collaborate with Calgary sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
  • Prepare and present quotations

Education and Certifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field

Experience

  • 5 years or more working as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager or relevant role
  • Solid expertise with CRM software and MS Office
  • Solid expertise in Midstream and Industrial Sales
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
