Logistics Task Lead 

Description

The Columbia Group (TCG), a design engineering and technical services company that has a successful 50+-year history of providing the United States Military with engineering, design, acquisition, logistics management, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services, is seeking a LogisticsTask Lead to support the Navy's PEO Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC).

The Navy's PEO Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC) designs, develops, builds, maintains and modernizes the Navy's expanding family of unmanned maritime systems, mine warfare systems and small surface combatants. PEO USC's program office runs with the support of contractor support staff who augment the uniformed and civilian Government workforce.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide analysis, planning and management support for all Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) areas, including: Maintenance Planning, CM, Product and Technical Data, Supply Support, Support Equipment, Design Interface, Facilities, and Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T)
  • Assist in developing a phased logistics approach that defines broad logistics concepts early and then becomes more defined and detailed as programs mature.
    • These logistics plans and analyses, with supporting documentation for all PEO OSC systems will be generated or revised to conform to significant program events including ILAs, Milestone Decisions, and significant program events or milestones from program initiation through life cycle support.
  • Participate in the establishment and review of plans and studies from program initiation throughout the life cycle.
  • Coordinate with Technical Design Agents (TDA), hardware vendors, and Program Office/PEO logisticians/engineers to help define supportability requirements for developmental programs and rapid deployment capabilities, and assist in developing support plans for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment.
  • Review logistics plans, products or analyses to include Acquisition Logistics Support Plan (ALSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) , training curricula, training materials, manpower requirements, maintenance plans, supply support management plans, technical manuals/technical drawings, and reliability/maintainability analyses.
  • Provide expert acquisition and/or in-service technical support in the primary logistics areas to include maintenance planning, supply support, technical data, configuration management, design interface, facilities and related areas.
  • Government Owned Material (GOM) Inventory Management
    • Develop process and track inventory of SOM and GOM to include cognizant Government entity, type equipment/material, quantities, storage location, and utilization history.
    • Prepare inventory reports as required for submission to NAVSEA 04L.
  • Provide coordination support between program, fleet and in-service activities regarding deployed systems, including recommendations for improving performance or resolving issues.
  • Provide direct on-site or temporary team support to Fleet or Operational activities, to include monitoring ship installation schedules, collecting and analyzing maintenance data, troubleshooting problem areas, and providing local operations and administrative support
  • Assist preparations for, participate in and complete follow-up actions required to complete ILA, Supportability Reviews (SR), Logistics Assessments (LA) and similar efforts.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience with DoD acquisition processes, in DoD/Navyprogram management, Industry or Government technical management, or Industry orGovernment business management.

  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in/with Logistics Support.

 

 

Desired Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related field from an accredited institution.
