Job Summary: This position is responsible to perform the overhaul/repair of aircraft parts, rotable components, sub-assemblies, etc. (hereafter referred to as “items”), as needed that are used on Bemidji Aviation’s fleet of aircraft.
Essential Functions:
Disassemble and clean simple and complex aircraft items as required.
Chemically strip items as needed.
Media blast items as needed.
Perform visual inspection of items for cracks, corrosion and conformity.
Use Dye penetrate and other NDT techniques to inspect items as required.
Use precision measuring tools to determine that items conform to technical data.
Prep items to be painted.
Reassemble items as needed after inspection is completed
Perform visual and/or operational test/inspections during/after assembly of items as required by technical data to determine airworthiness
Perform all work in accordance with approved technical data, task cards and industry standards.
Perform work with extreme attention to detail.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Maintain ability to be respirator fit tested (which means no beards).
Conform to and comply with industry safety standards
Safely and accurately utilize a variety of hand tools.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Technicians report to their respective Lead and are ultimately responsible to the Director of Maintenance and Chief Inspectors.
