Procurement Manager - Packaging

Position Summary:

The Procurement Manager - Packaging will have end-to-end responsibility for the overall purchasing/inventory program for all primary packaging materials including boxes, bottles, caps, labels & related paper and plastic goods associated with the juice packaging process. The Procurement Manager will work closely with the marketing and sales team to bring new products to market and will assist in the project management process for new packaging. The role is mission critical to the overall business, so there must a large emphasis on attention to detail. The right candidate will have a large amount of upward mobility within the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory of boxes, bottles, caps, labels and other paper/plastic goods in order to ensure the manufacturing team has the inventory needed to produce the respective juices with no delay or shortage
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and sales department to bring new products to market
  • Aggressively negotiate on packaging costs and innovate more economical packaging
  • Manage current supplier relationships to ensure reliable and steadfast working partnerships and an effective/efficient communication flow
  • Coordinate inventory movements between vendor and company-owned warehouses
  • Verify with receiving team that open POs have been fulfilled
  • Manage/Improve the current working excel models for all boxes, bottles, caps, labels and other paper/plastic goods
  • Provide monthly/annual usage forecasts for all items under purchasing umbrella to vendors
  • Coordinate with Production to address and resolve any issues that arise concerning product availability
  • Capture and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each function
  • Utilize KPI data for leveraging actionable process improvements
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years in procurement and/or related experience in Supply Chain Operations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and execute detailed work plans that support operational improvement
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite – especially Excel, Outlook & Internet applications required; experience in building forecasts and inventory models in Excel
  • Detailed understanding of accounting principles including Cash Flow, Profit and Loss statements, and Cost of Goods Sold
  • Experience with manufacturing operations and co-packing
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with and influence business partners
  • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • NetSuite ERP experience a plus
