Under the direction of the Assistant Store Manager the Lead Cashier will be responsible for customer service, cash register operations and all related duties involving cash flow for the Retail Store.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide support and training to Retail Associates and performs daily cash register sale transactions and customer service.
  2. Open and closing responsibilities (i.e. balance cash drawers, record/log register totals and bank deposit).
  3. Examine price sheet and regulate ticket price changes and sale items.
  4. Administer and redeem promotional coupons.
  5. Ensure store sale items are properly merchandised and arrange front display window and in-store displays and oversee the stocking of shelves and display racks.
  6. Complete and ensure the accuracy of required paperwork (i.e. daily cash receipts, sales and carryout slips, deposit slips, ID Notes and Incident Reports).
  7. Monitor fitting room access, return product to designated area and ensure room is clean and safe.
  8. Greet customers, answer telephone, respond to customer inquires in a professional manner.
  9. Assist with walk in donations.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

All Retail Associates, clients and volunteers.

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written in a professional manner).
  • Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to supervise staff, evaluate emergency situations and prioritize work load in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to perform basic cash transactions and arithmetic.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: One (1) year verifiable work experience in related field in a lead or key holder role (i.e. retail sales and cash handling experience).
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
