The successful candidate will lead a team of technical staff to work closely with Divisional engineering managers, product managers, engineers, and technicians to qualify hardware and software in ITW Welding products to internal and industry standards. Driven by customer use-cases, the Product Integrity Manager will develop/enhance verification methods and best practices for Miller NPD products. Using statistical tools and reliability research, this department will determine the most efficient and effective accelerated test methods to support the quality of Miller Electric products. This person must have strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.


  • B.S. in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in developing or supporting arc welding or similar equipment with 3+ years managing people desired
  • Solid understanding of market-based reliability test methods, standards, and best practices to include: Application of statistics, statistical analysis, uncertainty budgets, product degradation mechanisms and acceleration factors
  • Effective communicator – able to understand product roadmaps and interpret product requirements. Early communication of common requirements to NPD projects in a Divisional organization is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills from in a technical environment with solid project management skills to lead and execute multiple projects.
  • Experience working with software testing, hardware in the loop simulation, final system integration testing, DFMEAs, Design of Experiments (DOE), and general power electronics design practices


  • Manage the Reliability Test Department by assigning tasks to direct reports considering workload, deadlines, and individual capabilities
  • Schedule in-house and outsourced testing, and work closely with the outside test facilities
  • Understand Division product pipelines and roadmaps and work closely with Divisions to create and execute market-based reliability test plans based on customer use-cases
  • Communicate project or program status, work activities, and issues to Division stakeholders, supervisors, project members, and others as appropriate
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports
  • Enhance system verification testing of software and hardware through advanced data acquisition and automated testing methods
  • Assess completed reliability test plans for correlation to warranty and field failure data – revise test methods and procure test equipment as needed
  • Able to participate in product risk assessments and safety design reviews during the CBI process
  • Manage monthly department expenses and justify/procure capital equipment for reliability testing
  • Contribute to department long-range and annual plans (LRPs and APs)
  • Limited travel required
