Clubhouse Director 

Description

OHI is seeking an experienced leader to join our Team as the Clubhouse Director! The Clubhouse Director is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations that assist adults with mental illness achieve social, financial, educational, and vocational goals through focusing on strengths, talents, and abilities!

The Clubhouse assists members in accessing quality services in their community, as well as helps members return to paid employment in integrated work settings through both transitional employment and independent employment programs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead in the development of systems and procedures for the organized and efficient operation of the Clubhouse;
  • Oversees daily operations, ensures excellent customer service, and continuous quality improvement;
  • Establish, monitor and oversee all program goals for services, and maintain data related to program goals;
  • Promote active engagement among staff and Clubhouse members;
  • Demonstrate commitment to the values and beliefs of a Clubhouse program for people with mental illness.
 
Position Requirements

The successful applicant shall have:

  • Three years of direct contact experience assisting people with mental illness;
  • Five years’ experience in leadership and supervision;
  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • MHRT/C (Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community) certification;
  • Employment Specialist Certification (ACRE Approved);
  • Demonstrable understanding of:
    • The International Standards for Clubhouse programs;
    • MaineCare billing;
    • State vocational rehabilitation systems.

About the Organization OHI is a Maine-based, public nonprofit organization providing supports and services to people with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental illness for over 43 years. With offices in the greater Bangor area, specifically in the towns of Bangor and Brewer, OHI currently supports about 400 people in six Maine counties. OHI provides 24-hour residential services and various community services for people to live productively in their communities.

OHI also provides permanent housing in Bangor and Brewer for adults with disabilities, and professional development training for people, including family members, caregivers and support workers. In November 2013, OHI opened the Brewer Area Food Pantry as both a means to meet a growing need and to give back to a community which the people it supports rely upon.
OHI strongly believes in providing person-specific intellectual disability and mental health services tailored to the specific needs and desires of the person supported.
