Provider Contract Monitoring Specialist

Primary responsibilities: To ensure School Readiness contracts are complete with all necessary documentation and to monitor providers according to OEL standards.


1. Assist in maintaining provider records.

2. Responsible for tracking provider documents and sending notices of upcoming expiring documents to providers.

3. Assist in the distribution and maintenance of provider contracts.

4. Monitoring of School Readiness providers using the OEL approved monitoring tool.

5. Staying up to date with DCF child- teacher ratios, and OEL rules especially as those relate to child attendance and curriculum.

6. Selecting providers to be monitored in accordance with OEL guidelines and ensuring that the correct number of providers are monitored annually.

7. Sending non-compliance letters to providers as needed with the approval of supervisor.

8. Tracking provider non-compliance plans and reporting failures to submit plans or take corrective action to supervisor. Taking follow-up actions as directed by supervisor.

9. Compliance with ECS information technology policies.

10. Maintain confidentiality regarding information accessed in the performance of job duties.

11. Special projects as assigned.

12. Responsible for implementing the coalition’s anti-fraud plan daily activities related to prevention, detection, investigation, and reporting of possible overpayment resulting from potential fraud or abuse.

· This position reports to the Provider Services Coordinator

Position Requirements


· High School Diploma required. AS degree preferred

· 1-3 years working with the School Readiness program.



· Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

· Ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work accurately under time constraints.

· Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with peers, management and outside parties.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Problem solving skills and empathy and respect for providers and clients.



· Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage

· Satisfactory Driving Record (as outlined in Vehicle Driving Policy)

· Certificates of acknowledgement required: Conflict of Interest, Code of Ethics, Confidentiality agreements, IT Systems and Security, Anti-Fraud, HR Employee Acknowledgement Form.



· Works inside in an office environment

· Some travel required



· Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)

· Acceptable hearing (with or without correction)

· Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to access file cabinets for filing and retrieval of data

· Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
