Summary/Objective
The Project Manager – Facilities/Maintenance will be responsible for the planning and implementation of facilities and maintenance initiatives. The project manager will communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the completion of projects in a timely manner compliant with applicable guidelines, codes, and laws. The Project Manager will manage and report the use and demand for resources in a responsible fashion.

Duties

  • Planning all construction operations and scheduling intermediate project phases to ensure deadlines will be met;
  • Promoting the timely progression of projects by addressing delays, emergencies, and other issues;
  • Negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements;
  • Evaluating progress and preparing detailed reports to clients and related stakeholders;
  • Selecting, hiring, and assigning responsibilities to contractors, sub-contractors, and staff;
  • Providing great customer service and communication to stakeholders;
  • Communicating contract and technical matters with a high level of clarity;
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects and construction personnel;
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and applicable legal requirements;
  • Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities;
  • Supervising the work of laborers, mechanics, etc.;
  • Ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards and reporting issues when appropriate;
  • Acquiring equipment, procuring materials, and monitoring stock to maintain completion schedules;
  • Determining required resources (manpower, equipment, materials, etc.) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations;
  • Preparing budgets, cost estimates, schedules, and timelines.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 
Position Requirements

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, etc.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and proof of auto insurance
  • Proven experience as construction project manager
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to delegate work
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Good writing skills for proposals and reports
  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to estimate work effort and time needed for various construction jobs
  • Excellent technical skills and understanding of construction methods, contracts and blueprints
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software

Preferred Education and Experience

  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
