About the Position

Specialty Systems, Inc. has immediate openings for a Technical Support Analyst with the below described skills and experience to join our team of technical professionals supporting our Department of Defense customer at the Joint Base MDL-Lakehurst.  In this position, you will be suporting several US Navy programs in their research and development and in-service support activities.  Ideal candidates will have a broad set of technical skills and must be able to work both individually and within a team environment.  As a member of our team you will be able to experience the professional satisfaction of playing a key role in ensuring that our Department of Defense customers’ systems that have a direct impact on our country’s war-fighting and peace-keeping capabilities are performing at optimal levels.  This position is located at our customer site location at Joint Base MDL-Lakehurst.  In this position, you will work our customer’s Compressed Work Schedule which consists of working four 9 hour days (M-Th) and an 8 hour day (F) for the first week of a cycle followed by four 9 hour days (M-Th) and being off on the second Friday for the second week of a cycle.  This results in a 3 day weekend every other week!

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Process NMCI/NGEN transactions, including new seats, tech refreshes, changes, deletions and moves, adding additional hardware and software to existing NMCI/NGEN seats.

  • Planning for new hardware and software systems to be implemented and used by NAVAIR Lakehurst on the NMCI/NGEN network.

  • Ensuring that all processing actions adhere to NMCI/NGEN policies and are approved by NAVAIR Lakehurst Division and Branch Heads.

  • Ensuring that all hardware and software ordered for use within NAVAIR Lakehurst is compliant with NMCI/NGEN policies and approved in the FAM and DADMS databases.

  • Provide technical support to the NAVAIR Lakehurst user community in their use of the NMCI/NGEN IT assets.

  • Perform initial troubleshooting of NMCI/NGEN IT hardware and software issues experienced by end uses.  Assist with the escalation of issues if warranted.

  • Provide Government management with various reports on NMCI/NGEN asset usage and summaries of open transactions.

Position Requirements

Position Qualification Requirements:

Education, Certifications and Years of Experience:

  • Must have at least 1 year experience performing the job responsibilities listed above on the NMCI/NGEN network or within a similar environment. 
  • A BA/BS degree in a business or technical field is preferred.  However directly related work experience will be considered as an acceptable substitution for the degree.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance.

 

Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience handling NCMI/NGEN transactions is highly desired.  Exceptional IT hardware and software support experience may be considered in lieu of this direct experience.
  • Must possess solid computer skills and be able to troubleshoot common PC problems.
  • Must be competent in the MS Office Suite with particular skills in Word and Excel.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage/track multiple open actions simultaneously.

 

Security Clearance Notice:

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

 
Salary Range This position has a salary range of between $55,000 and $75,000, based on the candidate's match to the skill and experience levels required.  
Travel Requirements This position does not require travel outside the Joint Base.
