Share Email Opening Title Senior Software Development Engineer (ATSO)  Astronics Subsidiary Astronics Test Systems   Location Orlando, FL   Description General Summary Astronics Test Systems is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our ATS Orlando Engineering Team responsible for designing and developing modern communications test systems and integrated solutions.  The Sr. Software Engineer, as part of a cross functional team; will participate in the development of application, driver, and user interface software using the following development environments:  Windows 7, Windows 10, Visual Studio Forms, WPF, C#, C++, and Visual Studio. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JS, ASP.Net, React, Vue, or Blazor is a plus. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Support Windows systems running on custom hardware platforms with .NET, C#, C/C++ product-line applications in electronic test equipment systems. Introduce new software technologies in similar emerging projects. Ongoing tasks include software estimation, planning, requirements elicitation and architecture design as well as mentoring and oversight of programming team(s). Express and capture ideas with UML, evaluate and trade-off software design patterns, incorporate UI/UX concepts, and maintain products with software configuration management tools. Architect and develop moderately complex software applications following coding standards and software development processes. Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions while mentoring Jr. Level Software Engineers. Work effectively in cross functional teams by participating in product and application definition activities and feature and requirements analysis.   Position Requirements Job Specifications Qualifications Considered an expert with all aspects of software development processes, architectures, and modern software development techniques. Expertise with .NET, Windows 7, Windows 10, Visual Studio Forms, WPF, C#, C++, and Visual Studio. A disposition for project leadership, project teamwork and experience working with hardware design engineers for product development Ability to express and share software designs with UML, or similar textual and diagramming approaches Familiarity or general understanding in the application of signal processing algorithms, principles, theories, concepts, practices and standards relating to modern software-defined architectures and synthetic instrumentation designs. Competency designing and developing flexible, high performance communication interfaces Experienced in taking a product design from concept to production. Must be a US person.
