Production Planner
Summary: Reviews MRP and Sales Order bookings, generates Works Orders, and plans production schedules for the manufacture of products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- In conjunction with Manufacturing, develops schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
- In conjunction with Manufacturing, plans and schedules workflow for each work center according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. (routings)
- Confers with Production Team Assistant (PTA) to determine status of assigned projects.
- Coordinates delivery of raw materials and components with Purchasing
- Analyzes MRP outputs to determine requirements and schedules
- Perform material transactions using company’s ERP system.
- Review manufacturing work order allocations, Sales Order requirements and issue material accordingly.
- Works within company guidelines including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook, Core Values, Safety Manual, OSHA Safety rules, Insider Trading, Conduct and Ethics and Anti-discrimination policies
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:
College graduate and three years’ experience preferred or high school diploma and five years related experience.
Language Ability: Must have good communication skills Bilingual (English-Spanish)
including oral and written. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions written in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates and Licenses:
APICS Certification preferred but not required.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of the following:
- Manufacturing (MRP or ERP) software
- Outlook
- Microsoft Applications
