Position Summary:

Family Based is designed to help children and adolescents with emotional or behavioral problems receive comprehensive services in their home. Family Based includes family therapy in which all family members are encouraged to participate in order to achieve desired changes. Family Support Services are also offered. This assists the family in identifying and or accessing services and activities that could help promote positive changes. Family Based includes all members of the family to aid in producing positive change and growth. These services are delivered by a team of two professionals. The team will work together to identify strengths and needs in the family and establish goals based upon these strengths and needs. Every Family Based therapist attends a state training program to help cultivate the tools and practices they will use to use to help the families. Services are primarily provided in the home as well as various other locations depending on the family’s needs.

DESCRIPTION

  • Direct all clinical and administrative activities and under the direction of the Family Based Director, contribute to the financial and operational activities of the Department. Conduct case disposition team meetings. Assess and support intradepartmental changes in systems. Develop clinical services in the Department.
  • Maintain an awareness of new research and methods in the field of behavioral health. Seek positive growth and change. Comply with Pennsylvania State Law regarding the responsibilities of the licensed profession. Maintain awareness of and adherence to licensed professional standards.
  • Conduct group and individual supervision of staff. Offer feedback and support to the Family Based Director in regards to annual performance evaluations of designated staff; recruit new departmental staff as needed. Oversee intern field experience programs. Provide feedback to the Family Based Director in regards to coaching and training as indicated for staff. Advocate social learning and social responsibility.
  • Coordinate quality assurance program within the Department. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of new policies and procedures. Make appropriate policy recommendations for services. Maintain awareness of all Federal, State and managed care laws, policies, regulations and procedures, Best Practice Guidelines, and appropriate fiscal requirements related to the Department.
  • Attend appropriate meetings. Facilitate communication between departments and provide support as needed to clinical staff. Promote open communication.
  • Coordinate the state licensing for Department under the direction of the Family Based Director
  • Provide outreach/educational service in the form of presentations to local agencies. Consult and liaison with outside services and agencies as indicated.
  • Adhere to seven recognized Sanctuary commitments which includes social responsibility, social learning, non-violence, open communication, democracy, emotional intelligence, growth and change.
 
Position Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Masters degree in a human service field plus at least 3 years direct care experience within CASSP systems.
  • Experience in clinical/administrative supervision
  • Act 33 and 34 Clearances, Act 114 FBI, Act 31 Training
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report in accordance with Center Policy.
  • Solid organizational skills and time-management skills
  • Ability to think clearly during times of crisis and define safety plans with staff and/or consumers
  • Must demonstrate emotional intelligence when dealing with conflict between staff and/or consumers. Must be able to negotiate, navigate, and coordinate the multiple services involved in Referrals and consumer cases
  • Must be able to utilize CPI interventions and techniques according to Center Policy and procedure in accordance with CPI training.
