SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will be the world’s premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies. Located at Wilshire and Fairfax in Los Angeles, the Museum will be simultaneously immersive, experimental, educational, and entertaining. More than a museum, this dynamic film center will offer unparalleled experiences and insights into movies and movie-making.

 

As the Creative Coordinator you will report to the Creative Director and support the Creative Department by managing the departmental calendar, monitoring current creative projects to ensure timeliness, coordinating vendors, and assuring a smooth workflow in the unit. You will also work keep track of each phase, making sure everyone has the supplies needed to complete their tasks.

 

You Will:

  • Traffic creative elements to appropriate teams for review/notes/approvals and report notes back to Creative partners.
  • Interface with all levels of employees as well support communication with external partners and the creative community.
  • Develop and communicate project timelines (driving work forward in creative process, while serving best creative output).
  • Ensure team members have what they need to do their jobs well, helping them troubleshoot and secure missing needs.
  • Monitor project(s) progress to ensure project goals are met, trouble shooting and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Gather internal approvals are secured as work moves through the creative development process (CD, AD/CW, PROD, Proofreading).
  • Shadow and support creative projects.
  • Coordinate material for the Creative team's presentations.
  • Help move projects forward, even in the absence of all salient details toward agreed upon outcomes.
  • Book, manage and coordinate department calendars and events
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a creative environment preferably in a Museum
  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated interest in film studies or visual arts such as photography, video production, digital media
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Air table and JIRA, is ideal
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Worked with InDesign or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Availability some nights, weekends and flexible hours
