This position, under the direction of the Chief Nursing Executive, is responsible for: coordinating excellent psychiatric care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; managing hospital resources in a responsible manner; developing and maintaining on-going relationships with administration, staff, physicians, patients and their families, as well as our community partners, in order to best meet the needs of our clients. Performs other related duties as directed by the Chief Nursing Executive, Hospital Administrator and/or Medical Director.   Position Requirements SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of patients’ rights, advanced directives, adult/ child abuse laws, and emergency detention. Strong leadership and negotiation skills Knowledge of a wide range of psychosocial, cognitive and/or developmental disorders. Basic computer knowledge QUALIFICATIONS Education: Degree from an accredited program in professional nursing is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of one year in an adult psychiatric facility/unit. Supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
