Share Email Opening Title 2020-03-06-Information Security Systems Engineer (AAM)  Description About the Position Specialty Systems, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Information Systems/Cyber Security Engineer who will be responsible for delivering high level cyber security systems engineering services to Navy programs that are early in their development/enhancement lifecycles for the development of system architectures and designs that “bake in” the required cyber security posture at the beginning. In this position you will work at our customer’s site located a few short miles west of our Toms River, NJ office. You will also work our customer’s Compressed Work Schedule which consists of working four 9 hour days, an 8 hour day for the first week of a cycle followed by four 9 hour days and being off on the second Friday for the second week of a cycle. This results in a 3 day weekend every other week! Job responsibilities will include: Provide cyber security engineering for the ALRE infrastructure environment Serves as a Cyber Systems Engineer for cutting edge hardware and software systems, translating program requirements into system requirements and design. Providing cyber engineering expertise to determine security requirements by evaluating best practices; researching security. standards/tools; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; identify integration issues. Enhance systems engineering team competence by developing and directing secure architecture techniques; answering technical and procedural questions from team members; recommending improved processes; assist in design solutions to complex cyber engineering problems. Working knowledge of current government mandated cybersecurity policies and procedures. Developing Information Assurance (IA)/Cybersecurity strategies for both new systems and enhancements/overhauls of existing systems. Influencing the system requirements and design processes to incorporate the identification of cyber requirements early in these processes. Suggesting architecture solutions to these systems that support both the functional requirements of the systems and the cyber/information assurance requirements. Identifying poor cyber designs in systems and offering alternative designs. Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages. Attend systems meetings with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support the Navy for all Cyber Security matters throughout the lifecycle of the system from inception to disposal.   About the Organization Specialty Systems, Inc. is an Information Technology and Engineering Services provider serving customers across the Federal Government, NJ State and Local Governments, and private industry markets. Candidates who do not meet the degree requirement but have extensive Cybersecurity experience may be considered. Must have Security+ CE or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. Must have a Secret level or higher clearance. At least 8 years of IA/Cybersecurity experience, including demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job responsibilities listed above. Technical: Must have demonstrated experience applying DoD IA and Information Security (IS) policies and standards. Must be fully knowledgeable with Department of Defense IA/Cybersecurity Directives. Must have experience identifying and applying the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on Department of Defense systems. Must have direct cyber systems engineering experience on Defense systems where you have been a lead/key player in defining the cyber requirements of a system in its early phases of requirements and design.   Security Clearance Notice: Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.   Salary Range This position has a salary range of between $100,000 and $135,000, based on the candidate's match to the skill and experience levels required.   Travel Requirements Occasional travel may be required.
