Summary
Records payments to customers' accounts and maintains accounts receivable records by performing the following duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities
This job description does not imply that these are the only duties performed. • Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable (AR) ledger by customer
• Researchers and processes customer claims of invoice payment, charge backs, returns, and credit memos.
• Answers accounts receivable phone inquiries and follows up
• Corresponds by phone or electronic means with customers as necessary in order to update accounts and prevent them from becoming delinquent.
• Communicates AR status weekly.
• Assist with preparation of A/R reserve, monthly closes, and related special projects as needed.
• Work with all Astronics Luminescent Systems plants to resolve any receivable issues
• May need to work overtime and weekends as required. Need to be able to work with time constraints
• This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate degree preferred or equivalent additional experience
1-3 years of demonstrated receivables experience
Proficiency in MS Excel required, including but not limited to pivot tables.
Experience in a MRP or automated accounting system that feeds to applicable MRP strongly desired.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE
Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Does not have any supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions within the organization.

SKILLS
Language Skills
Good communication skills in English, including oral and written. Write, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Effectively present information in one-one-one and small group situations to suppliers, customers, other employees and management.

Mathematical Skills
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Review and recognize errors, research missing information.

Computer Skills
Use personal computer for spreadsheets, documents, emails and accounting software. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) is preferred.

Physical Demands *
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and use hands and arms to reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
