Bolton & Menk, a top regional consulting engineering firm in the Midwest is now accepting applications for a Water Resources Design Engineer (EIT). As a Water Resources Design Engineer you will work with our Project Engineers to develop designs, technical specifications, perform plan reviews and construction inspections on a variety water resources projects throughout the state of Minnesota.
Project Duties:
- Assist with the design and development of stormwater management systems, surface water management plans (SWMPs), stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and wetland restoration projects.
- Developing hydrologic and hydraulic models using modeling software like XPSWMM, InfoSWMM, AutoDesk’s Storm and Sanitary Analysis, HEC-RAS, GeoPak Drainage and HydroCAD
- Develop preliminary layouts, modeling and design using AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation and Arc GIS
- Researching and preparing rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
- Assist with project design and preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.
- Occasionally performing detailed construction observation and project documentation.
We are looking for:
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited college
- Certified Engineer-in-Training (within 12 months of employment)
- Effective interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D)
- Developing knowledge of hydraulic modeling software. (i.e. HydroCAD, XPSWMM)
- Possess valid driver’s license.
Preferred skills:
- Master’s Degree in Civil, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- GIS coursework or experience.
This position is open to May 2020 graduates.
