SUMMARY: This position requires a responsible, motivated self-starter who can multi-task projects and duties alone or as part of a team. Must have knowledge of pharmaceuticals and medical terminology. 340B Auditor is responsible for activities which support the maintenance of the 340B drug pricing program, cost effective health services and for meeting other agency goals.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works under the direction of the 340B Program Manager
  • Relieves management and senior-level staff of projects and duties as directed.
  • Composes detailed reports, letters, memos, and other written communications to staff, outside agencies, and governmental organizations. Conduct monthly internal audits of all contracted pharmacies
  • Manage purchasing, receiving and inventory with Pharmacy Benefits Management Company.
  • Maintain reconciliation database of virtual and clinic inventory, including purchases, dispensing and balance.
  • Create reports for both monthly audits and inventory reconciliation for review by program manager
  • Conducts research as necessary to complete special projects.
  • Provides department heads and clinic directors with pertinent information and assists in developing plans to achieve department or clinic goals.
  • Gains and maintains a working knowledge of appropriate federal, state, local and clinic regulations as applicable to their department and supervisory staff.
  • Assembles materials from files and records for use in preparing reports, answering correspondence and inquiries, and carrying out various office functions.
  • Maintains excellent public relations with all clinic personnel, governmental agencies, and members of the community.
  • Provides light clerical support, such as invoicing and correspondence, as needed.
  • Reports regularly to the 340B Program Manager about the status of activities that have been delegated.
  • Keeps current regarding industry trends and innovation
  • Gains and maintains a working knowledge of appropriate federal, state, local and clinic regulations as applicable to the operations of the clinics drug programs.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Open Door Community Health Centers’ Policies and Procedures.
  • Assists the Pharmacy Coordinator with other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinates audits for the Quality Assurance Committee.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.
  • Adheres to ODCHC’s attendance policy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Knowledge of health care systems and management.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues relating to health care.
  • Ability to work with a team approach to management. Ability to work as a member of a team in order to solicit input from affected departments or individuals, communicate pertinent information to other team members, and support team decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and exercise sound and responsible judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal. Ability to establish constructive working relationships with all levels of employees in a staff of varied and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents related to health care industry information, as well as financial and legal issues.
  • Ability to work efficiently unsupervised.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex duties and projects neatly, accurately and completely.
  • Strong computer skills, including facility with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The 340B Auditor reports directly to the 340B Program Manager and is an integral member of the 340B team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely an office-based position. The physical requirements described are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Reasonable accommodation will be made to allow otherwise qualified candidates to perform these functions.

  • Speaking and hearing sufficient to communicate effectively by telephone, video or in-person at normal volumes
  • Vision adequate to read documents, computer screens, forms and designs and to differentiate colors as necessary
  • Ability to use standard computer equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry packages and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use keyboard and view computer screens for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move around offices and clinics as needed
