About the Organization SRG is a Washington, D.C. based restaurant company. We create original concepts and help real estate developers, hoteliers and commercial property owners enhance the value of their food and beverage real estate. Privately owned, it is led by industry veterans Desmond Reilly, Kristopher Carr, and Stu Damon. Founded in 1998 and repurposed in 2013, SRG’s core business is the development and operations of three restaurant concepts, The Walrus Oyster & Ale House, CHICKEN + WHISKEY, and doi moi all located in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. SRG is currently executing its full service and fast casual growth strategy.

Description
  1. Leadership Team Member. Serves as critical element of the SRG Leadership Team with Director of Ops, Culinary and Managing Principals. Conduct Compliance, Human Capital Planning, Succession Planning Development. Meetings, Reporting.
  2. Forecasting of Management Requirements. Update the requirements of management staffing and needs on a 28 day basis.
  3. Sourcing, Recruiting and Selection of Management and Associates. University Recruiting for FOH and Interns. AAS School and University Recruiting for Culinary Management, and Interns. Recruiting locally for great associate service and culinary talent. Ensure all resources feeders are generating enough talent. Administer Selection Criteria including Rave-worthy, Background Checks, I-9 compliance, 90 day probationary period.
  4. Training and Development. Prepare Training and Development documents. Coordinate and conduct centralized onboarding, benefit training, SRG harassment programs, Prepare Training and Development documents.
  5. Wage, Hour Salary Grade Administration. Reporting and Financial Accountability Establish Oversight of Wage and Administration. Oversight of Mgt. Review Review of Jurisdictional Wage and Hour Requirement. Establish Annual Wage and Hour Competitive Scales.
  6. Key Metric Reporting. Produce HR Key Server Metrics Financial Reporting for all 3 restaurants. Produce Turnover statistics. Associate Engagement Results.
  7. Administer the Guarantee of Fair Treatment Policy for the Company.
  8. Associate Engagement Improve Associate Engagement within the restaurants. Bi- Annual Survey of Associate Engagement and Seven question for metrics comparison Follow- up and Resolution of Associate Engagement Debriefings
  9. Administer HR Coach and Counseling. Coordinate Dr. Mia Mulrennan- Fractional Coach and Counsel among staff.
  10. Benefit Administration Responsible for the administration of a competitive benefit program for both Associates and Managers. .401 K, Medical Benefits, Insurance Benefits for Management. Medical Benefits for Associates. PTO.
  11. Tools and Technology. Responsible for maintenance of Handbooks, training documents, HR SOPs and Paychex HR Flex for HR MIS.
 
Position Requirements

This exciting new position to Star Restaurant Group will serve as a member of the SRG Executive Team and report to one of the Managing Principals. The candidate will set and lead the companies human resource strategy and partner with company leaders and team members to improve SRG’s human capital initiatives, associate engagement, guarantee of fair treatment and jurisdictional compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in hospitality operations, recruiting, and possess outstanding written and public speaking skills.

Bachelor’s degree is required.

SHRM CP Certification will be required within 1 year.

 

Position: Management 50+ hours a week

Salary Grade: Lo $73,000, Mid $79,000, High $85,000

Bonus: 10%-20% based on targeted objectives. Norm %15

Reports to: Managing Principal

Location: Washington, DC Market
