Description

This position will be responsible for all servicing related loan transaction records, including but not limited to payment application and history, escrow transactions, customer inquiries, complaint resolution, credit bureau reporting, investor records and regulatory compliance.

The incumbent must maintain a high level of accuracy and provide proactive communication and support to all stakeholders. The Loan Servicing Specialist II provides mentorship and support to other Loan Servicing Specialists on the technical aspects of the position and may conduct post-reviews in assigned areas of loan servicing as directed by management.

The incumbent will serve as a resource to the frontline for loan servicing questions and must deliver Incredible Customer Experience (I.C.E.). A high degree of resourcefulness and accuracy is required in this position to ensure the bank does not incur financial losses due to incomplete or inaccurate information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations and the banks BSA/AML Program.
  • Ensure accuracy of the loan terms and conditions reflected within the bank's core operating system and related systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of all loan account transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts affected by servicing related loan transaction activity.
  • Provide file reviews related to Customer Identification Program (CIP).
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of loan participation transactions.
  • Provide accurate and timely payoff quotes and paid loan processing.
  • Process accurate and timely account verifications and responses to customer inquiries.
  • Handle certain aspects of credit bureau reporting including compliant and timely response to credit disputes and complaints.
  • Balance and file claims for Credit Life and Accident & Health Insurance accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely real estate property tax reporting.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting to bank investors to include validating investor settlement related accounting transactions.
  • Maintenance of an effective and efficient escrow accounting process including, but not limited to, annual and short-year analysis, escrow interest applications, escrow deposits and escrow disbursements.
  • Responsible for monitoring escrow transactions related to collateral damaged insurance claims and effectively facilitating the disbursements.
  • Responsible for processing timely disbursements of construction loan advances.
  • Ensure efficient workflow, accuracy of functions and timely and consistent communication with the frontline lending staff, support areas and other shared services divisions.
  • Assist management in identifying loan servicing training opportunities.
  • Perform research and follow-up on outstanding exam, audit, and review items. Conduct post-reviews on complex servicing and operational requests to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience preferred.
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent industry training or experience related to mortgage lending, processing and compliance.

Software Skills

  • Have knowledge of core processing systems, Microsoft Office, Windows, Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Database software and loan origination software.

Physical Requirements

  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • Occasional lift, carry, push, or pull of objects
