About the Organization Headquartered in Solon, Ohio, HDT Global is the industry leader in engineering, designing and manufacturing leading-edge military expeditionary products, rugged industrial/commercial products, and products for medical rehabilitation. Our product lines include shelters, heaters, environmental control units (ECUs), power generators, chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear (CBRN) air filtration and collective protection systems, military vehicles, perimeter protection systems, and robotics including manipulator arms, vehicles, and healthcare solutions.

Location HDT (Solon, OH-Corporate)  

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and innovative leader with a demonstrated track record of delivering operational excellence and an understanding and appreciation of operations in a tightly regulated industry. We anticipate that this individual will currently be in an operations leadership role for a larger business and bring expertise necessary for continued growth. Ideally, this person will be technologically conversant with the ability to quickly command respect and credibility with our internal and external stakeholders.


The Vice President Operations is responsible for leading operations excellence vision and strategy for the enterprise. This position plans, directs, coordinates, and over sees operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.


  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organizations goals and objectives
  • Ensures the organization’s ability to meet cost, schedule, performance, safety and quality objectives for existing business and products lines
  • Assures world-class staffing to exceed the strategic and tactical goals of the business
  • Develops and implements strategies to drive significant improvements in operations efficiencies
  • Provides leadership to realize continuous improvement of manufacturing operations, engineering, and supply chain processes with an emphasis on the application of Lean - Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ensures consistent compliant execution of processes and data management to meet government contracting and regulatory requirements
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standard
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Field or Engineering – MBA preferred


  • 15+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in a government contracting organization
  • Proven accomplishments in operational cost reductions and process improvements
  • Mature transformational judgment and a very sound foundation in Operations, Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, etc.
  • Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
  • Experience in formulating business policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

  • Proven track record of success in facilitating progressive organizational change and development
  • Superior management skills and ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers with the ability to build strong high performing teams

  • Business acumen for identifying opportunities and making reasoned decisions in a changing business environment
  • Well versed with the rules, regulations, and nuances that drive the government contracting or a similarly regulated environment
  • Advanced understanding of operations tools, techniques and processes
  • Superior ethical standards beyond reproach, including knowledge and compliance with FCPA policy and regulations
  • Critical thinker and change leader; ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage numerous projects
  • Outstanding innovative skills with the willingness to collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface as a key member of the senior management team
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
  • Available to travel up to 50%
