Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for management and oversight of all functions of patient financial services and ensuring the integrity of the financial data and reports for the facility.
  • Has responsibility for the management of staff and processes surrounding the Revenue Cycle components of the Patient Financial Services billing staff.
  • Ensures utilization of analytical tools to make forecasts and projections that inform strategic business decisions and promote continued financial health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Associate is capable of delivering care/service appropriate to patients/customers.
  • Monitors staff job performance on a continuous basis and implements applicable job training and educational programs to ensure the retention of a quality work team.
    • Assist with job interviews within three (3) weeks of job opening.
    • Completes ongoing review with each staff member on his/her job performance.
    • Initiates corrective action with staff as deficiencies are recognized.
    • Maintains employee educational record on all departmental staff
  • Supports all department information system needs including all computer applications.
  • Works closely with other hospital departments to ensure an efficient flow of work.
    • Coordinates and implements computer upgrades on a timely basis.
    • Works with Core Team to ensure consistency within Meditech.
    • Maintains positive working relationship with all departments.
    • Share data reports; use internally developed key performance indicators to assess organizational performance; present findings and recommendations to revenue cycle leaders.
  • Supervises the follow-up on errors and initiates corrective action as needed.
  • Supports the initiation, accuracy and documentation of patient price estimations
    • Assist with software development and implementation.
      • Displays and maintains behavior which promotes good guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers.
  • Is courteous, friendly and willing to assist others.
  • Displays a positive appearance including appropriate dress per department policy.
  • Attends training and utilizes resources pertinent to guest relations.
  • Monitors and assists employees in their display of good guest relations.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in related healthcare areas by participating in educational seminars and reading appropriate books and literature.
    • Attends at least two educational seminars per year.
    • Presents an issue or subject at each staff meeting from a recently read article or book.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Registered Nurse (RN)

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Indiana License BLS Certified preferred.
  • College graduate or equivalent. Emphasis on business, human resource management and process improvement courses preferred.
  • Continued education preferred and ability to direct and conduct educational programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a management position. Skills in identifying problems, researching and recommending solutions.
