Position Pharmacy Technician  
Description

Under the direct and immediate supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician performs a variety of routine technical duties related to preparing and dispensing drugs in accordance with standard procedures and techniques.

This is a PRN position, providing up to 10 hours a week with a variable schedule between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Morning availability is preferred but the schedule is flexible and can be established with management.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Degree or equivalent required; Completion of a formalized Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.

Experience: Two years pharmacy technician experience. Psychiatric hospital experience preferred.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of crisis intervention prevention provided during new employee orientation and prior to assisting with restraint procedures. Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of use and dispensing of medications.
  • Knowledge and ability to read and comprehend physician’s orders relating to medications and treatments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer/typing skills.
