This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who is looking to work on a high profile multimillion-dollar international program/project. The position will require extensive client interaction, working with stakeholders, designers, contractors, utility companies and permit agencies in DC. In addition, the position will also require supervisory responsibilities of the staff.

The ability to work collaboratively with others, to work with a diverse staff, and to make mistakes but learn from them are important considerations for selection.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Manager is the senior person who manages multiple task order teams, resources and priorities. The Project Manager has the authority to reassign resources within the team to meet competing obligations. This person will prepare the Project Management Plan (PMP), and manage the contract execution to comply with the PMP. This person is the main point of contact with the client. This person will receive task order proposal requests, manage the response to these requests, assign staff resources to perform task orders, and monitor the performance of multiple task orders. This person holds ultimate responsibility for quality of work, and contract financial performance.

 
Position Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or, for architects, a Master of Architecture degree or, for construction managers, a bachelor’s degree in construction management from an accredited institution. In Lieu of an accredited degree, two years of comparable engineering, construction or architecture work may substitute for the engineering, construction management or architecture degree.
  • Active Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain such clearance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff.
  • Basic knowledge of scheduling principles and familiarity with scheduling software such as MS Project/P6; ability to discern critical activities; ability to determine what has caused delays to critical activities.
  • Familiarity with project management collaborative software such as Prolog or other similar software.
  • Proficiency with and intermediate working facility with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Knowledge of estimating guides such as RS Means and ability to prepare independent estimates or to research specific item costs.
  • Knowledge of construction contracting principles and practices.
  • Have or ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour safety class certification within 60 days
