Meridian is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Business Development Representative to join our growing team in Reston, Virginia and play an integral part in achieving our sales goals.

Compensation is $40,000 - $45,000 yearly - depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

Business / Lead Development

  • Leverage and support outbound lead generation campaigns with phone calls and social media outreach to qualify identify potential prospects for our account executive teams
  • Schedule meetings and demos for the sales team, using all the tools available to you.
  • Research new sales opportunity information for our public sector and account executives via 3rd party tools (such as GovWin) and databases such as GovWin
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.

Sales Data Support

  • Assist marketing and sales teams to add new prospects to Meridian’s Salesforce database
  • Identify data records with inaccurate or missing contact details and use 3rd party tools and web research to fill information gaps

Additional Items

  • Research, coordinate, and collaborate with Sales on the development of customer facing presentations as needed
  • Able and willing to gain in-depth knowledge of Meridian’s products, learning industry trends and key competitors
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • College degree, preferably in marketing, communications and/or related business focus
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Ability to successfully juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Experience with CRM / sales tools such as Salesforce
  • Strong listening, organizational and time management skills
  • Deep knowledge of Social Networks (especially LinkedIn,
  • Ability to engage and empathize over the phone and via written communications
