Treatment is based on the belief that, through a combination of medically managed care and therapeutic intervention and education, patients can learn to effectively manage their illnesses and cope with the effects on their lives.   Location CenterPointe Hospital Columbia   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Shift Various Shifts   Position LPN   Description The LPN provides, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.   Position Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited professional vocational/practical school of nursing, preferably with education in Child and Adolescent Development. Experience: Previous experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. Licensure: Licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing from the State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: CPR certification required. Successful completion of crisis prevention intervention training provided during new employee hospital orientation and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.   SKILLS: Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of a wide range of psychosocial, cognitive and/or developmental disorders.
