For more information please visit www.astrazeneca.com .   Description We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelors degree in (but not limited to) Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or Bioengineering for an internship during the summer of 2020. Objective/Goal of the Internship: To determine the mechanism of the copper precipitation observed in large scale-bioreactor nutrient feed preps. Feed solutions are complex. The solubility/stability and interactions of their components are not well understood. Copper is critical to culture performance, and thus the stability and concentration of bioavailable copper must be assured. Learning the mechanism of the observed copper precipitation will allow us design feed preps that ensure copper stability and contribute valuably to the field of media design and metal and amino acid chemistry. Primary Duties: Literature research Execution of lab experiements ICP-MS analysis Data Analysis Required Skills: General chemistry lab technique experience Safe laboratory practives Keeping a lab notebook Experience with MS Excel Technical writing   Position Requirements Position Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the US Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical writing skills are required.
