Description

SUMMARY
Assists the Experience Division Marketing team in writing and editing magazine articles, newsletters, website copy and press releases, as well as maintaining and curating content on our blog.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
• Participate in generation of unique, compelling stories related to Venues Parks & Arts
• Interview proper sources to enhance story content
• Write accurate stories that are well-researched and attributed to necessary sources
• Proof-reading and editing of materials
• Monitor all forms of media and the earned media values
• Write and edit content for marketing campaigns including website page copy, ad copy, blog posts and email copy
• Work with Marketing Managers to understand overall marketing needs and content strategy
• Assists with marketing of programs to the public and corporate community
• Assists with societal trends and how to be as inclusive as possible
• Attends divisional and departmental staff meetings, as requested
NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
• Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or as needed.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• College student interested in learning on the job training relating to the fields of journalism, communications, digital media, business, marketing, psychology, sociology, or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
• Has knowledge of or can readily learn various software applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with patrons of all ages.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION
• Valid Driver’s License required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in office settings, with moderate inside temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Entire office is smoke free.
