We are very excited to grow a team with these values, and our attractive benefits package is just the start of what we offer!   Category Culinary   Description **Please note that this is a PERMANENT, FULL-TIME position.** DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for preparing and serving palatable, nourishing, well-balanced diets to meet the daily nutritional and special dietary needs of each Resident. This staff member will also assist in dishwashing operations and cleaning tasks. DUTIES: Working with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, clinical care staff, and residents to provide food service in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assisting in preparing, covering, and labeling food utilizing appropriate protocol. Preparing and/or pre-portioning food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and production sheets and as directed, modifying texture of foods using appropriate equipment to conform to doctor’s orders. Measuring and mixing ingredients according to the recipe, and if older than 16, they may utilize equipment such as blenders, mixers, food processors, etc. Utilizing proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures. Setting up Bistros and Community Room for upcoming meal which includes properly setting tables. Assisting during mealtimes as directed by the Chef. Making sure that there is soft music playing throughout the Bistros and Community Room during mealtimes to ensure a comfortable, relaxed eating environment. Waiting on resident tables to take orders, preparing trays to ensure proper diet, and delivering the food to the resident table. Preparing and serving beverages. Cleaning Bistros and Community room after meals, including busing tables and mopping/vacuuming floors, as well as properly sanitizing after each use. Preparing and delivering between-meal snacks. Completing cleaning assignments according to cleaning schedule. Covering all food items when transporting to resident room. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and order in the Bistros, Community Room and main kitchen. Washing dishes, pans, utensils, work areas, tables, ovens. Following infection control procedures. Performing all duties assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner. Assisting fellow team members in maintaining a clean, homelike environment that is free from hazards by tidying up spaces, cleaning up after residents and ensuring that they always look presentable. Completing proper documentation in electronic medical record. Attending all mandatory staff in-services. Showing up for work on time and following the appropriate call-in procedure when necessary. Maintaining a high standard and professional dress attire. Performing other duties as assigned by the Management Team Director. Following rules and regulations outlined in DHS 83 and CSL Policies and Procedures that are not specifically outlined above. COMPENSATION: $10-$11/hour   Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. 1+ year of dining services experience in a healthcare or hospital setting required. Current ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain said certification on own time. Related food handling experience preferred. Must be at least 16 years old. CBRF Registry, CPR/AED certified, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia care experience preferred, but not required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is very active and requires standing/walking for 100% of the workday. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and pull tray/bus/transport carts weighing up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
