About the Organization Cornerstone Energy Services, Inc. provides engineering, survey and land services to the energy infrastructure marketplace. We provide a broad range of services critical to the initial phases of projects, right through completion and documentation. These services include: process, civil, mechanical and I&E engineering, project management, survey and mapping, and Right-of-Way acquisition. We have expertise and experience in both long linear projects as well as single-site facilities. Our clients are developers and operators of oil and gas pipelines and electric transmission lines.

Position Requirements

Cornerstone Energy Services, Inc. seeks a full time Senior Project Manager at our offices located at 172 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester, MA 01604.

Job Description:

Plan, direct and coordinate engineering projects including:

  1. Direct projects for clients, including managing scope and budget, scheduling project activities, and quality of overall project;
  2. Oversee the engineering team consisting of Engineers, Designers, and Project Coordinator;
  3. Manage project communications including coordinating with the client and other stakeholders as well as ensuring proper communication between internal and external project teams;
  4. Identify the staffing requirements for specific phases or aspects of each project, and work with Human Resources Coordinator to hire staff to meet those needs;
  5. Ensure safety standards are followed in the design and execution phases of projects;
  6. Review and analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to assist in planning and design of projects;
  7. Mediate disagreements between disciplines and make decisions in the best interest of public safety and the client;
  8. Participate in industry events and maintain a strong network.

Position Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related engineering field plus three years of experience in a related role within the energy infrastructure industry. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related engineering field plus five years of progressive experience in a related role within the energy infrastructure industry. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, to include each of the following:

  1. Two years of experience directing work of engineers, designers and drafters to produce system designs that meet the industry standards as well as Code of Federal Regulations, ASME, NFPA, and National Electric Code;
  2. Two years of experience directing the engineering and design development for the following energy infrastructure facilities:
  1. LNG Facilities;
  2. Custody Transfer Meter Station;
  3. Natural gas and crude oil pipeline; and
  4. LP gas facilities.
  1. Two years of experience utilizing Project Management Principles (PMP), Deltek Vision and other support tools for planning, reporting and controlling all aspects of the project;
  2. Two years of experience leading the development of preparation of project proposals and cost estimates as well as coordinating the EPC contractors to develop EPC proposals;
  3. Two years of experience utilizing analysis and implementation tools including Google Earth, Gas Calc, GasWorks and Caesar;
  4. Two years of experience utilizing MS Project for project scheduling and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Occasional short-term domestic travel (less than 50%).
