Addressing the most urgent national security challenges, STR is developing fundamentally new capabilities in cyber-physical systems modeling, vulnerability analysis, and attack detection and remediation. STR conducts advanced research in cyber and related disciplines, ranging from reverse engineering to formal methods and autonomous agent-based defenses, and from embedded systems hardware to enterprise cloud environments. The Role: Lead teams developing innovative technical proposals to customer solicitations Lead teams of engineers researching, developing and implementing cyber capabilities that advance the state of the art Lead the demonstration of these capabilities on a range of platforms, from embedded to enterprise systems Interact effectively with national security customers and users to identify and develop project requirements and define innovative solutions   Position Requirements Who You Are: A mid-level researcher with a BS or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Cybersecurity or related field and several years of experience as a technical team lead, or A senior-level researcher with a Masters or PhD in one of the above fields, and some experience leading research projects Substantial experience in cyber R&D An ability to apply scientific and/or engineering techniques to abstract away from the specifics of cyber systems, in order to create robust, reproducible results Good communication skills, able to present results, research directions, and new concepts to customers, and to provide clear guidance to engineering teams tackling difficult, underspecified research challenges Strong software engineering abilities, demonstrated ability to manage all technical aspects of a multi-person engineering team Motivated collaborator and effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences STR seeks to provide an outstanding work environment for its employees with excellent benefits and competitive compensation.Full-time employees enjoy 401(k), profit sharing, health and welfare benefits, subsidies for training and conference attendance to foster continued learning and development, and a casual yet technically challenging work environment.
