Proton Technologies, Inc. is a third-party IT services company that provides IT support and amazing customer service to over 300 auto-dealership clients across the country. We prioritize client relationships and enjoy the personal level of attention we give them. We are not the normal "ticket, ticket, ticket" IT support shop. Currently, Proton has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Sales Engineer to join our Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Under the director of the CEO, the Sales Engineer is responsible for a variety of presale processes including (but not limited to) data analysis, sales quoting, and delivering initial estimates to clients. Through both virtual and in-person communication with clientele, the Sales Engineer must maintain a high level of professionalism and have a passion for problem-solving.  

 
Position Requirements

Primary Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer: 

  • Work with the Sales Administrator to condense and configure technical data from clients. 
  • Analyze data to determine any technical abilities that the client is lacking, and what technical services would satisfy those needs. 
  • Conduct onsite client assessments to further determine technical strengths/weaknesses and help generate advanced quotes.
  • Coordinate with clients/vendors/project managers to design and configure Cisco Meraki networks as needed.
  • Investigate and implement resolutions for any network/server errors. 
  • Maintain the highest level of availability for network resources and maximize uptime.
  • Efficiently configure technical gear upon arrival for deployment. 
  • Install and/or secure any network equipment.
  • Travel extensively, as required, for large company projects.

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Must have at least 3-4 years experience in a network support/management role. 
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in a business or IT related field is preferred.
  • Able to translate technical service needs into non-technical, customer-oriented lingo. 
  • Strong sense of Firewall Configurations, Cisco, and Networking.
  • Expertise with network topology and routing. 
  • Comfortable with managing switches and access points. 
  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki.
  • Has worked with troubleshooting firewalls and routers while maintaining a firm understanding of their roles.

  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments.
