Tabula Rasa HealthCare is looking for a talented and experienced VP of Data Architecture with strong skills to guide the architecture, migration, and optimization of data across our Medication Risk Management Platform and products. The VP of Data Architecture will support our product and enterprise teams on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable leading and directing the architecture required to meet the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of leading in the vision, design and optimization of our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

Primary Functions:

  • Ensure quality data architecture and best practices across the entire enterprise
  • Lead team which will be responsible across the enterprise to provide data architecture, design and consulting to ensure high quality and high-performance systems.
  • Provide guidance/training in design, planning and product selection for data-based initiatives which will be scalable, cost efficient and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Validate the design of database schemas in both relational and non-relational data stores.
  • Define best practices and guidelines which can be shared across the enterprise to help ensure high quality data systems across all products.
  • Responsible for a group which can support many technologies and can address a variety of data related design, development or trouble shooting needs that may arise.
  • Create and maintain optimal analytics data pipeline.
  • Identify, design, and architect internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Work with product and enterprise teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater alignment within our data systems.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field of study, a quantitative field, or related practical experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 20+ years of industry experience with product development and engineering
  • 15+ years in leading data architecture and design initiatives
  • Proven experience leading high performance, large scale database projects.
  • Experience in Healthcare Technology (preferred).
  • Expert level experience in data modeling, design and development across a wide array of data intensive projects.
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational database systems.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of numerous industry leading relational databases.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards like HIPAA and handling of PHI.
  • Knowledge of FHIR standards.
  • Familiarity with ontologies such as SNOMED, RxNorm, LOINC, ICD-10, NDC a plus.
