Warehouser (Temporary) 

Description

Come join the Warehouse team at Woodland Park Zoo! We currently have two temporary, part-time, non-benefited positions available.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and deliver animal diets.
  • Order and pickup food and non-food items from vendors.
  • Clean and organize the warehouse.
  • Drive various vehicles (pickup truck, van, golf cart), sometimes in tight spaces.
  • Monitor and maintain food quality and record keeping in accordance with federal regulations.

When we’ll need you:

  • Shifts start at 5:30am, seven days a week.
  • This is a temporary, 24-40 variable hour work week, non-benefited opportunity.

  • You’re a hard worker who thrives in a team environment.
  • You appreciate animal conservation and sustainability efforts and are ready to do your part.
  • You're a strong communicator with a focus on providing great customer service.
  • You're safety minded and comfortable working with and around heavy machinery - forklifts, cardboard bailer, electric pallet jack, etc.
  • You readily take direction and are comfortable performing detail oriented, repetitive tasks while remaining flexible and open to changing tasks.
  • You are comfortable working with hay, dust, crickets, worms, fish, blood, and dead prey animals.

Pay: $24.36 per hour

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid WA driver's license with a safe driving history. A criminal background check, driving record review, pre-employment physical, and pre-employment tuberculosis test will be required of the selected applicant.
