The Integrated Systems Department of NEC Labs America invites applications for summer 2020 internships. We have research projects that combine cloud orchestration, big data, AI, machine learning and computer vision techniques with real-time analytics of media (video, audio, text, and time-series) to create complex, real-time IoT systems and services. Minimum duration of internships is usually three months and the exact dates are flexible. Application projects emphasize technologies that solve real world problems, and many of our research results are absorbed into NEC’s global products. The group is located in Princeton, NJ and San Jose, CA. |
• Currently enrolled in PhD/MS programs in computer science, information technology or equivalent
• Research experience in the following areas:
(1) service orchestration/automation on cloud or on-premise infrastructure
(2) applications of AI, machine learning, computer vision techniques
• Strong computational background, especially in distributed systems, cloud-based computing
• Strong programming and scripting skills, especially in C/C++ and Python
• Strong communication and collaboration skills |
