Position Overview: Looking for a dedicated, compassionate and qualified CNA who wishes to work in a vibrant activity center where Older Adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment can exercise their mind, body and spirit. Center is a non-medical social model. Candidate must be a strong team player who can work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment to provide quality customer service to the Balboa Avenue Older Adult Center participants. Candidate must be proactive, think quickly on their feet and genuinely wish to help clients with their well-being. Essential Functions: Supporting and assisting with group activity and recreational programs. Assisting transportation team in helping participants get to and from vehicles. Assisting clients to and from restrooms. Supporting meal prep and distribution of meals and beverages to participants. Providing quality customer service via telephone and in person. Encourage and monitor activities to support clients. Reporting and documenting any changes or concerns. Keeping informed about the center activities in order to effectively respond to participant inquiries. Assist volunteers, clients and family members during program hours. Assist in set up and clean up of Activity Room daily. Other tasks assigned by supervisor.   Position Requirements Position Requirements: Physically capable both of performing the required duties and assisting clients as necessary. Certificate as a Nursing Assistant from an accredited vocational school. Current certificate of CPR and First Aid Training. Minimum 1 year experience in Caregiving, Adult Day Center, or Dementia Care Knowledge of the normal and abnormal aging process, senior social services, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia is preferred. Knowledge of Jewish Culture is preferred. Be a team player and able to get along well with co-workers and other departments. Good spelling, grammar and written communication skills. Excellent telephone and oral communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, general clerical documents, safety rules, instructions booklets and manuals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions or in making decisions. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
