Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Specialist, Training (HR Specialist) is responsible for the coordinator and facilitation of all training for employees throughout the organization. This role is responsible for the recordkeeping and regulatory compliance in collaboration with the HR department. The incumbent will facilitate, implement, and measure training outcomes. The HR Specialist will steward all training programs and records associated with the company's compliance within the state, federal and other applicable guidelines. Through development and delivery of engagement activities and events, this position plays a major role in reinforcing the company's values and positively influencing the culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop curriculum and class materials, facilitate and deliver technical and soft skills training.
  2. Ensure that positive culture reinforcement is embedded in all activities and events.
  3. Conduct compliance training including but not limited to: new hire orientation, crisis intervention training, mistreatment (of vulnerable population) prevention, job safety, HIPAA, etc.
  4. Liaison with managers and all training stakeholders to ensure training requirements are met and training effectiveness is assessed.
  5. Design and facilitate organization-wide training and engagement events each year, some of which occur outside of normal business hours and on weekends.
  6. Coordinate the scheduling, coordination, and implementation of all training initiatives and events.
  7. Collaborate with team to ensure all materials are produced and provided for courses in a timely manner.
  8. Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, tracking employee training, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, ordering supplies, maintaining supply inventories, and coordinating enrollment.
  9. Perform data entry related to training, and for other Human Resource department needs.
  10. Conduct monthly audits of training records and employee participation, generate reports, etc. to ensure training compliance needs are met.
  11. Remain aware of and implement best practices and current trends in training, development, adult learning strategies, and engagement.
  12. Manage and maintain training facilities, equipment and supplies. This includes completing all course prep, scheduling speakers, room set-up, food orders, and setting out materials.
  13. Assist in developing new training, and support all departments with refresher training, providing excellent customer service.
  14. Update, revise, and support the creation of training materials, to ensure company compliance.
  15. Support Human Resources as an essential member of the department's team.
  16. Performs to duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Polished public speaking/facilitation ability to small and large groups
  • Project management capability, for event planning, coordination and management
  • Technologically savvy; Microsoft Office, database management, etc.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to think critically; define problems and draw valid conclusions
  • Time management and organizational planning
  • Extremely organized; able to manage multiple projects and priorities with ease
  • Knowledge and passion for leadership development and adult learning principles
  • Must have a professional and positive demeanor at all times
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with leadership from each department
  • Ability to take initiative, work productively independently, and as part of a team
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to thrive in evolving and expanding program areas

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Minimum two years developing curriculum and materials, leading technical and soft skill training, and expertise in learning methodology and outcomes.
  • Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification or ability to acquire certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Required: Crisis Intervention Instructor certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Required: Reliable transportation. Able to travel to different locations throughout day.
  • Preferred: Professional training certification in Learning & Development, Training, Engagement, Leadership, Human Resources, or other related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Design or Development, Business Management, Human Services or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Preferred: LMS and/or HRIS software experience
