What You Would Be Doing

This staff person is responsible to the Supported Living Administrator to provide direct programming and support services to residents with developmental disabilities.

35% Supervises SL Site Supervisors; recommends assignments, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, grievance resolutions and other personnel actions; evaluates employee performance; over-see’s development and implementation employee work schedules.

35% Directs, supervises and assists in planning overall operation of supported living homes; oversees arrangement of work assignments and schedules to ensure proper coverage based upon the ISP including the development of the 20/20; Oversees the implementation of CQL, and insures the completion on POMS for all individuals maintains adequate supplies & materials; prepares and maintains system of program evaluation; coordinates medical services, appointments, nursing procedures as trained and needed; assists with the preparation of and operates facility within annual budget; provides for and supervises the accurate accounting and expenditure of resident funds.

20% Supervises and provides assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of Individual Plans reviews and evaluations to ensure adequacy of services; coordinates resident services with community agencies and employers of individuals served; supervises, provides and coordinates program management services; coordinates procedures for admission and procedures for progress reporting as related to elements of Individual Plans as developed and implemented; supervises and provides for the health and safety of all individuals served.

5% Provides liaison services with parents, employees, community agencies and other interested parties; ensures compliance with all applicable standards; prepares and submits required reports and correspondence; provides staff training programs; operates county vehicles.

0-10% May perform delegated nursing and direct care tasks and/or procedures,

0-5% Performs other related duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related course of study or equivalent work experience
  • One year of experience in residential programming
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Certifications in First Aid and CPR - adult, child and infant; delegated nursing
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and proof of auto insurance
  • Strong communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills – including spreadsheets and word processing tools – and ability to learn new programs expeditiously

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Two years of experience working with developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals

Special Skills & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field preferred; one year experience in residential programming and one year of supervisory experience preferred; must be able to lift, bend, push and pull up to 50 pounds.

    Licensure/Certification: Multi-Media First Aid, CPR—adult, child & infant; delegated nursing; valid Ohio Driver’s License – Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

    Experience: Two years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals; supervisory experience preferred.

    SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to communicate in English – including spoken (either face-to-face or over the phone) and in writing
    • Must be detail oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities.
    • Must be able to use tools and equipment as required – including pushing/pulling wheelchairs, lifting consumers with hoyer lifts
