Overview

In this role, the incumbent is responsible for developing and measuring short and long-term strategic plans (including marketing) for Investment and Insurance with a focus to increase revenue, improve member penetration and quality service. They will assist, coach and mentor the team to develop personal plans and hold them accountable to execute and measure the plans following the credit union and the broker dealer’s guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees’ performance in alignment with Patelco performance management practices.
  • Promote the Patelco culture between the team and the Credit Union.
  • Meet with each employee on a regular basis to review previous performance, set goals for performance and develop plans to improve employee’s performance to hold employees accountable for their performance.
  • Assist in ensuring program is committed to credit union’s operating plan, long-range plan and other initiatives that promote synergy.
  • Manage the completion of all required Credit Union compliance training and those required by the broker-dealer.
  • Act as a liaison between Patelco Financial Solutions and other departments.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure that the program adheres to all broker-dealer and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring that the goals and operations of the Patelco Financial Solutions aligns with the goals and objectives of the rest of the Credit Union.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing and advertising strategy that ties to operating plan.
  • Assist in supervising and coordinating all daily, monthly and annual reports pertaining to sales activities, income, expenses and referrals.
  • Assist in preparing annual operating budget and monitor revenue and expenditures.
  • Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating a business plan for the Investment Group.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate short and long-term business plans of the Financial Advisors and Sales Assistants.
  • Compute compensation metrics for the Investment Team.
  • Assists in managing member complaints/errors/ (with CFS Compliance) to promote member experience and assist the credit union with limiting liability.
  • Assists in supervising and ensuring the operations of PFS complies with all applicable compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for providing regular and on-going financial planning, sales, and career coaching and mentoring employees.
  • Assists in managing all recruiting efforts for Patelco Financial Solutions in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Supports Company Mission and Corporate Values.
  • Partner and work closely with insurance vendor relationships on performance, product and roadmap.
  • Work internally and collaborate with business partners to ensure insurance products and services are being offered as an integrated solution.
  • Proactive management of insurance services from a product, pricing and delivery perspective.
 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum completion of a 4-year degree in finance, business or related field required.
  • 2 - 4 or more years related investment industry experience and/or training.
  • 3+ years of prior management experience.
  • Series 7, 63, 65 (or 66) and Life Insurance licenses are required.
  • Be able to complete Series 24 within 6 months of employment.
  • Previous management and sales coaching experience.
  • Strong communication skills and public speaking experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of financial institution products and services, as well as, life insurance, annuity and securities products.
  • Proficient in operational procedures related to member accounts.
  • Strong practical understanding of general economic principles relating to all aspects of personal finance.
  • Proficient in MS applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Must be able to do the following: to read, to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately; to see details and recognize errors in numbers and spelling; to present information effectively; to work within precise limits of accuracy; to follow instructions; to accept responsibility; to be tactful and patient with others.
  • Ability to communicate successfully and in a professional manner with clients, above average math aptitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent decision making and problem solving skills, superior amount of computer literacy and proofreading capabilities and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of financial institution products and services, as well as, life insurance, annuity and securities products.
  • Proficient in operational procedures related to member accounts.
  • Strong practical understanding of general economic principles relating to all aspects of personal finance.
