This position will work with our Accounting Team to prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information, documents financial transactions by entering account information, recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options, and reconcile account statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and guidelines approved by management.

Essential Functions

  • Reconcile the Credit Union’s general ledger in accordance with established policies and procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Record monthly payroll journal entries and complete account reconciliations.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
  • Provides month and quarter end reports for financial reporting as assigned.
  • Assist with reconciling accounts with Federal Reserve Bank, the Federal Home Loan Bank, and other accounts as needed.
  • Complete accrual entries as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate chart of accounts.
  • Record monthly lease journal entries and complete account reconciliations.
  • Balance credit union clearing accounts daily.
  • Assist with accounting for prepaid and other type expenses accurately.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain and update the fixed assets tracking software as needed.
  • Assist with depreciation and amortization entries monthly and update all appropriate systems.
 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Education: Required – A college degree. Preferred – A bachelor degree in a related field of study such as finance, economics, or statistics. Experience with ProfitStar ALM Software.

 

Experience: Required - Minimum two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Preferred: Greater than two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
