Job Summary:

Mechanic Shop Foreman will be responsible for overseeing maintenance on all mobile equipment and overseeing shop Mechanics, Parts Runners, and Laborers.


  • Must be knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of Ready-mix trucks, dump trucks, and various other types of equipment used in the Ready-mix industry.
  • Welding experience is necessary
  • A CDL and heavy equipment experience are a plus
  • The ability to work safely is a must
  • Applicants must have thier own tools and reliable transporation to work
  • Forman needs to have interpersonal skills to deal with workers they oversee and be able to communicate well with Fleet Manager
  • Good comuter skills are a must
  • Must have good time management skills and be able to see projects through on time
  • Must have 3 or more years of hands on maintenance work on all aspects of heavy duty trucks.
  • Service equipment according to a planned schedule in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot, correctly repair, clean/wash commercial trucks and equipment which may include removal of concrete buildup necessary to complete required repairs
  • Repair equipment that breaks down while in service; repairs may be conducted in the shop setting or on a road call
  • Check, prioritize and repair equipment write-ups based on safety issues, customer service issues, PM issues and less critical issues
  • Maintain positive relationships and communication with drivers, dispatch, co-workers and management
  • Keep meticulous documentation on all repairs
  • Consistently communicate status of downed vehicles to shop manager and dispatch
  • Assist in maintaining accurate parts inventory by keeping parts in their designated place and recording parts removed
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures when completing tasks
  • Responsible for working in a safe manner at all times, reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
  • Required to attend Safety Meetings as scheduled by management
  • May be required to perform other related duties as needed

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred


To Include, but not limited to:

  • Attendance (ability to adhere to work schedule) and punctuality are required
  • Job requires the following motions: Climbinb, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, driving, riding, twisting, pushing/pulling of controls, and riding on rough terrain.
  • Computer skills will be required for data entry of work orders
  • Lifting of up to 75 pounds and use of hand tools and power tools
  • Can be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather
  • Works shifts may vary and may include overtime work, nights may be required
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License
  • Must be able to perform hands on repairs
  • Have hand tools to do any mainenance job necessary

Foreman will be subject to random drug and alcohol screens as required by company policy. New hires will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and must test negative on a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen upon offer of emplyment. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented from time to time as necessary without prior notice.

Preferred: Prior experience (3-5 yrs) in repairing Ready-Mix trucks as a lead or foreman is preferred.
